A Unique Perspective
One Student Taking on an Industry
Northern Wave Digital was founded in 2023 by Laken Rein, an experienced freelance marketer, and business student at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Laken created Northern Wave in order to bridge the gap between small Canadian businesses and their large industry competitors.
In order to accomplish this, Northern Wave Digital employs a refined vision of Community-Based Marketing. This strategy aims to create communities out of our brands customers through outreach, engagement and appreciation.

The Man Behind The Mission
Laken Rein is an experienced marketing professional, starting his first freelance practice in 2021. With practical experience and fundamental education, Laken Rein is focused on refining and applying his unique and innovative strategies. Working with organizations like the Alberta Community & Co-operative Association (ACCA), Laken has developed a unique understanding of Social Change Orgs, further growing Northern Wave Digital’s vision.
