One Student Taking on an Industry
Northern Wave Digital was founded in 2023 by Laken Rein, an experienced freelance marketer, and business student at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Laken created Northern Wave in order to bridge the gap between small Canadian businesses and their large industry competitors.
Northern Wave Digital offers a cost-effective solution aimed at helping Canadian small businesses, contractors, and social change organizations succeed on the web.

Bringing the Co-operative Model to Canadian Youth
Northern Wave Digital led website development for a national cooperative awareness campaign targeting Gen Z consumers across Canada. This initiative, developed in partnership with ACCA, BCCA, SCA, MCA, and NLFC and delivered through ACCESS Shared Services, represents one of the most comprehensive digital campaigns for cooperative promotion in Canadian history.

Supporting the Creation of a National Network
Northern Wave Digital built a WordPress e-commerce wholesale platform for Canada Bike Distributors, an Edmonton-based bicycle distribution network connecting manufacturers with retailers across Canada. The project required a B2B-focused site that could handle wholesale ordering, dealer management, and product catalog functionality.
